Is That It?

I was initially unimpressed by the message

I saw Granny Oak today.

For new subscribers, Granny Oak is my favourite oak tree in my local park. I would estimate that she is at least 100 years old. When you lean against her, it feels like a kind elder is giving you a hug and saying that everything is going to be ok. Hence her name.

When I visit her, a saying or wise piece of advice comes into my mind. I don’t know if the tree is talking to me or whether I am making it up, but I don’t care. I often arrive there feeling confused, stressed or agitated and I always leave feeling more at peace with the world.

Today I was on more of a mission. Since promoting my paid offering last week, I want to get more regular with my visits and updates, rather than sporadic.

As is usual when I approach, I try to second guess what the message or theme of the message might be. I was worried that perhaps nothing would happen, that I was being too contrived in even going there when I was more motivated by my publishing schedule than anything else.

I think Granny Oak might have sensed this, because initially, I was disappointed in the message. Is that it? I thought.
