The truth is, I would LOVE to do this some year, because I have a few novel ideas in my head, but I have other writing projects that need to take priority this year.

But I love the idea of doing this. And yeah, it's important to note that your product at the end of the month is going to be crap. but at last as people recognize that the work isn't done, I think it is a great movement that raises awareness about writing.

A great point about NaNo is that it helps you develop discipline, which is a habit I think a lot of newer writers don't understand. I didn't understand it for a long time.

Excellent tips and insight, Cali. My takeaways: keeping Saturday Saturday and the first draft as a conversation/story you tell yourself. More of a CNF than fiction writer so haven’t jumped aboard the NaNo train. Yet.

So agree with all this. I think it’s a great way to establish writing patterns and consistency. I’m doing it but not even through their site. Knowing millions of other people worldwide are focused on a writing goal inspires me to get the first draft of my next book out. Good luck!!
